The German Alps are not as high as the alps in Switzerland or Austria, but they are very easy to enjoy on a motorcycle. The German Alpine Road runs from Lake Constance to Lake Konigssee and gives you a long chain of good touring roads, lakes, villages and mountain views. A good start is the Allgau, where the road climbs from Lindau towards Oberstaufen, Immenstadt, Sonthofen and the Oberjoch Pass. This pass is famous for its many bends and is a real biker road. Further east you can ride past Zugspitze country, Walchensee and Kesselberg, then over Sudelfeld towards Oberaudorf. The finish near Berchtesgaden and Konigssee is a great place to stop for the evening.
